Life Skills Training Program
We believe that confidence and knowledge are the foundation of empowerment. Through our Life Skills Training workshops, women and adolescent girls learn:

  • Decision-making and problem-solving

  • Communication and leadership skills

Economic independence is key to women’s empowerment. ARALU provides:

  • Livelihood and skill-based training (stitching, handicrafts, small enterprises)

Orientation on Skill Trainings — 19 September 2024

An orientation session was held in Mandakanalli village to equip participants with essential skills aimed at enhancing employability and self-sufficiency. Community members participated in interactive discussions and gained valuable insights into training opportunities.

Workshop on Child Marriage Issues — 17 March 2024

A community workshop in Bidar raised awareness about the dangers of child marriage and emphasized the need to prevent it through discussions and awareness-building activities.

Orientation on Personal Health and Hygiene — 14 October 2023

At Zhamistanpur village, Kishore Club members received guidance on health and hygiene. CWC chairperson Smt. Rajya Balbatti and APF coordinator Sunita led the session, promoting healthier lifestyle practices among youth.

Awareness on Child Trafficking — 14 September 2023

Community sessions were conducted to inform people of the signs of child trafficking and steps to prevent it, aiming to foster increased vigilance and child safety.

Computer Training for Kishoris — 07 September 2023

Six Kishoris from the Yernalli cluster began computer training at Don Bosco, aimed at enhancing digital literacy and opening up future educational or vocational opportunities.

Father’s Program — 12 April 2023

As part of the Safe Village Program, this session focused on child protection, highlighting the importance of fathers in preventing child trafficking and child marriage. It also introduced participants to the Child Line helpline for emergency support.

Family Clubs Meeting — 31 March 2023

Parents and caregivers were sensitized to the importance of education and the risks of child marriage and child labor. The meeting highlighted their vital role in safeguarding their children and promoting a supportive environment for growth.

Children’s Club Meeting — 24 March 2023

In this session, children learned about their rights, the value of education, and the dangers of child labor and early marriage. As part of the outreach, 30 children received dry ration kits, supported by Ash for Education US.

Safe Village Program — 21 March 2023

In collaboration with Her Choices Foundation, the program educated students and community members about child trafficking, child marriage, and safe vs. unsafe touch. Comics and pamphlets were distributed to engage young learners.

More Initiatives (2020–2022)

  • Children’s Day Celebration (15 November 2022): Games and gift distribution for children at Yedlpaur’s Pre-Primary Centre.

  • Movement Leaders Meeting (10 September 2022): Village leaders were briefed on child marriage and government benefit schemes, enabling 25 families to access support.

  • District-Level Meeting on Child Marriage (30 August 2022): Stakeholder discussions in Yadgir focused on collaborative strategies to combat child marriage and child labor.

  • Spouse Meeting (11 August 2022): Early-married husbands were educated on SRHR and MCH, emphasizing the negative impacts of child marriage.

  • Formation of Self-Help Groups (02 August 2022): Established 45 SHGs comprising 365 early-married girls. Members received training in SHG bookkeeping for financial empowerment.

  • Capacity Building Training (30 July 2022): 45 early-married girls received training in tailoring, embroidery, beauty services, computer literacy, and awareness on child marriage.

  • Gender-Based Violence Rally (27 July 2022): A rally at Kangankote School with 103 students and 5 teachers raised awareness and distributed IEC materials.

  • Asha Workers Meeting (15 September 2020): Trained 20 ASHA workers to support community health initiatives through regular coordination and health scheme updates.

  • Nutrition Food Supply (16 August 2020): Distributed nutritional food to 32 pregnant women, early-married girls, and lactating mothers.

  • Safe Village Program (14 August 2020): Educated the community on child trafficking and abuse prevention through interactive sessions and educational materials.

  • Covid-19 Relief Activities (24–25 April 2020): Distributed food kits to migrant workers and vulnerable families in Yarnalli and Mandakanalli.

  • Rangoli Activity for COVID-19 Awareness (23 April 2020): Kids created rangoli designs to spread health awareness among 28 participants.

  • Pre-Primary Center & Child Labor-Free Schools (2019 & earlier): Operated a preschool for 30 children; launched enrollment and awareness campaigns to eliminate child labor.

  • Belaku Residential Home (2002): Provided residential care, education, daily needs, and tuition to 14 girls and 6 boys.
